Modification of concrete for paving & flooring

Latex cement combination in cement mortar and cement concrete is governed by both the cement hydration and latex polymer film formation processes. The properties of ordinary cement mortar and cement concrete are improved to a great extent by latex modification. In latex modified mortar and concrete the micro cracks are bridged by the polymer films or membranes which prevents crack propagation and simultaneously a strong cement hydrate aggregate bond is formed. The sealing effect due to polymer film formed in the structure also provides a considerable increase in waterproofness, resistance to chloride ion penetration, moisture transmission, carbonation, oxygen diffusion / chemical resistance and freeze thaw durability. Thus, the cement mortar / concrete is made much stronger by latex modification. The matrix formed offers following benefits.

Hydracrete SBR is styrene butadiene polymer latex specially developed to use with cement formulations.

Effluent drains, Chemical factory floors, grouting of acid proof tiles, septic tanks, foundations for machinery plants etc.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE :

SURFACE PREPARATION :

Surface preparation is very important to get the best result and to avoid failure. The substrate,  must be clean and free of dirt grease, sludge, fungus, cement coating blistered and loose plaster etc. Moisture is necessary for effectiveness, therefore the substrate must be soaked and dampened with water. However streaming water be diverted by creating drains. Cracks must be sealed with suitable elastic sealant.

The mix proportions of latex modifiers concrete & mortars cannot be easily determined unless otherwise trials are conducted. By our technical date generation we have found the following suitable mix designs.

CLEANING :

Tools and equipment to be cleaned with water when the material is in uncured state.


STORAGE & SHELF LIFE :

Store at cool and dry place away from sun heat in original sealed containers. Shelf life is one year from the date of manufacture.
